Nominations Open for the 8th Annual GIS WebTech Technology Leadership Award

Technology continues to transform economic development by helping organizations better understand their communities, market opportunities, support site selection, and make smarter, data-driven decisions.

Every year, we see economic development organizations finding creative and impactful ways to use GIS technology to solve challenges, improve decision-making, and tell their community’s story.

To recognize these industry leaders, GIS WebTech is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 8th Annual GIS WebTech Technology Leadership Award: Recognizing Excellence in GIS Innovation for Economic Development.

The award recognizes professionals and organizations that are advancing economic development through the innovative use of GIS technology. Nominations are open to economic developers, GIS professionals, marketers, researchers, and technology specialists from public, private, and nonprofit organizations.

All economic development and site selection organizations in the United States and Canada are eligible.

Nominations will be evaluated in four categories:

• GIS Innovation – Creative applications of GIS technology that improve economic development processes, workflows, or decision-making.
• GIS Marketing – Outstanding use of GIS and location intelligence to market communities, properties, or economic opportunities.
• Esri Innovation – Exceptional implementation of Esri technology to advance economic development initiatives.
• GIS in the Community – Innovative GIS projects that create meaningful impact for businesses, residents, or the broader community.

Know an individual or organization pushing the boundaries of GIS in economic development? Nominate them for the 8th Annual GIS WebTech Technology Leadership Award and help us celebrate the innovators shaping the future of our industry.

As a thank you for taking the time to recognize excellence in our industry, everyone who submits a nomination will automatically be entered into a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card.

We encourage you to include supporting materials such as screenshots, maps, brochures, presentations, videos, and links to interactive GIS applications and websites.
